Green Banana and Apple Puree

Green banana and apple puree offers delicious tasty nutrition for babies from 6months. Green banana has many health benefits for babies development and contains vital nutrients including potassium which is helps in the proper functioning of the body cells, tissues and organs. It is an immune-boosting food and perfect for making babies gain weight. Green banana is NOT unripe banana but a different specie of banana that is like plantain but shorter in size. It is also called cooking bananas.

Adding apple to this puree improves its taste, and with all the essential vitamins in apple which is one of the first fruits for baby, it is sure a winner.

Remember to start baby on first ingredient foods before combining different foods.

Green Banana and Apple Puree Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 green banana
  • 1/4 or 1/2 medium apple
  • Small butter
  • Pinch of nutmeg

Method

  1. Peel and cut the green banana and apple into small chunks .
  2. Boil together with 1 cup of water for about 5-7 minutes or until soft, then add the butter and nutmeg.
  3. Puree until smooth and serve.

      Thank you so much Elizabeth. No, green banana is a different specie of banana that is cooked, so is also called cooking banana.

    Can a normal unripe banana be used?

    Also can salt be added?
    My baby is a year and 2 months

      Not sure it is the same. You can always add a pinch of salt
